ΘΕΜΑ: Πρόγραμμα του 8ου ετήσιου Φεστιβάλ Ελληνικού Κινηματογράφου Λονδίνου (London Greek Film Festival), από τις 19 έως τις 25 Οκτωβρίου 2015.

Το Φεστιβάλ Ελληνικού Κινηματογράφου Λονδίνου, ανεξάρτητο, εναλλακτικό, προοδευτικό και δημιουργικό όπως πάντα, παραμένει πιστό στο στόχο του παρά τις αντιξοότητες: να είναι το διεθνές σημείο συνάντησης για το σύγχρονο ελληνικό φιλμ από όλο τον κόσμο. Το Φεστιβάλ, το οποίο ξεκίνησε το 2008 από τον σκηνοθέτη Χρήστο Προσύλη και την Cosmocinema του Λονδίνου, συνεχίζει να προβάλει την ελληνικού ενδιαφέροντος κινηματογραφική παραγωγή σε όλες τις εκφάνσεις της.

Φέτος το φεστιβάλ θα διαρκέσει από τις 19 έως τις 25 Οκτωβρίου. Στο διάστημα αυτό θα παρουσιάσει περισσότερες από 55 επιλεγμένες ταινίες στο Θέατρο Τέχνης του Λονδίνου (26 Crowndale Road, London, NW1 1TT), ενώ θα παρουσιάσει διαδικτυακά και 11 επιλεγμένα σενάρια μικρού και μεγάλου μήκους. Στις ταινίες συμπεριλαμβάνονται: μυθοπλασίας μεγάλου μήκους, μυθοπλασίας μικρού μήκους, ντοκιμαντέρ, πειραματικές ταινίες και ταινίες βιντεοτέχνης.

Το φεστιβάλ δέχεται ταινίες και σενάρια από σύγχρονους Έλληνες δημιουργούς από όλο τον κόσμο, αλλά και από ξένους των οποίων η δουλειά έχει ελληνικό ενδιαφέρον. Αποτελεί ένα από τα πλέον σημαντικά γεγονότα παρουσίασης του σύγχρονου ελληνικού πολιτισμού στη βρετανική μητρόπολη και ευρύτερα στην Ευρώπη, προβάλλοντας ένα θετικό και δημιουργικό πρόσωπο της Ελλάδας στο εξωτερικό. Ταυτόχρονα ανοίγει ευκαιρίες δικτύωσης και συνεργασίας και προωθεί τις νέες τεχνολογίες, που συνδυάζουν το παλιό καλό σινεμά με τις νέες δυνατότητες που προσφέρει η σύγχρονη πραγματικότητα. 

Στις 24 Οκτωβρίου θα πραγματοποιηθεί η απονομή των «Βραβείων Οδυσσέας» στο Θέατρο Τέχνης του Λονδίνου, όπου και θα βραβευτούν οι καλύτερες ταινίες του φεστιβάλ σε διάφορες κατηγορίες, όπως επίσης και ηθοποιοί, σεναριογράφοι, δημιουργοί και καλλιτέχνες. Θα παρουσιάσει ο δημοσιογράφος Θανάσης Γκαβός.

Το φεστιβάλ θα ολοκληρωθεί στις 25 Οκτωβρίου με δύο πολύ σημαντικά ενημερωτικά / εισαγωγικά εργαστήρια, που αφορούν το νέο project του φεστιβάλ σε συνεργασία με την Cosmocinema του Λονδίνου: τη νέα υπηρεσία ‘Ιnternational Αgency Filming in Greece’ του φεστιβάλ, καθώς και την παρουσίαση της μεθόδου Acting Code (Κώδικας Υποκριτικής) όπως αναπτύχθηκε από τον σκηνοθέτη Χρήστο Προσύλη την προηγούμενη δεκαετία και εξελίχθηκε μέσα από την ερευνητική θεατρική του ομάδα Cosmotheatre του Λονδίνου. Η μέθοδος είναι πλέον διαθέσιμη πλέον στο ευρύ κοινό.
