Μια μουσική αναδρομή εμπνευσμένη από τους αγαπημένους ήρωες της καλλιτεχνικής του πορείας θα παρουσιάσει ο Μάριος Φραγκούλης στις 22 Σεπτεμβρίου στο Ωδείο Ηρώδου Αττικού, σε μια πρωτότυπη μουσική παράσταση με τίτλο «Stage Heroes – Οι δικοί μου Ήρωες», σε μουσική διεύθυνση Λουκά Καρυτινού.

Θρυλικοί ήρωες της όπερας, των μιούζικαλ, του θεάτρου αλλά και της έβδομης τέχνης θα αναβιώσουν στη σκηνή του Ηρωδείου με την λυρική φωνή του διεθνή Έλληνα τενόρου σκιαγραφώντας τα όνειρα και τις σημαντικές στιγμές της προσωπικής του διαδρομής στο θέατρο και τη μουσική, από τα πρώτα χρόνια της καριέρας του μέχρι και σήμερα.

Ο Μάριος Φραγκούλης θα ερμηνεύσει με το δικό του μοναδικό τρόπο άριες από γνωστές και αγαπημένες όπερες όπως «O κουρέας της Σεβίλλης», «Τραβιάτα», «Το ελιξήριο της αγάπης», ναπολιτάνικες καντσονέτες που τραγουδούν το πάθος και τον έρωτα με αναφορές στον σπουδαίο Ιταλό τενόρο Μάριο Λάνζα, αλλά και ρόλους από έργα μεγάλων Ελλήνων δημιουργών που αποτέλεσαν σταθμούς στην καριέρα του όπως «Η Λειτουργία του Ορφέα», «Ερωτόκριτος», «Όρνιθες» κ.ά.

Τον δημοφιλή ερμηνευτή θα συνοδεύσει επί σκηνής η σοπράνο Ντέμπορα Μάγιερς για να μας μεταφέρουν με τη σπάνια χημεία που τους ενώνει, στο λαμπερό κόσμο των μιούζικαλ -από όπου ξεκίνησε το μουσικό του ταξίδι ο Μάριος Φραγκούλης -ερμηνεύοντας γνωστά ντουέτα από διάσημα μιούζικαλ όπως τα «Le Miserables», «Phantom of the Opera», «The King and I», «West Side Story» κ.ά.

Τη συναυλία θα πλαισιώσει σπάνιο οπτικοακουστικό υλικό από μοναδικές στιγμές της καριέρας του αγαπημένου καλλιτέχνη στην ελληνική και ξένη σκηνή.

Η μουσική αναδρομή θα ολοκληρωθεί με αγαπημένα τραγούδια, από το χθες και το σήμερα, της διεθνούς δισκογραφίας του Μάριου Φραγκούλη σε μία πλούσια «βιογραφική» συναυλία που υπόσχεται να μας χαρίσει δυνατές στιγμές, σε μια βραδιά γεμάτη νοσταλγία και συγκίνηση.

MY Dear Friends,

I am inviting you to be part of this rather 'personal' journey in music and theatre, through the various roles I had the pleasure of playing on stage throughout my career.

On 22nd of September 2013 at the Odeon of Herodes Atticus, (Herod Atticus Amphitheatre) underneath the sacred 'Rock of Civilization', The Acropolis we will present a program created just for you which I have decided to name 'Stage Heroes'.

This Performance marks my 25th Anniversary on Stage both in the West End and also in the various Theatres of the world like Teatro Alla Scala, in Milan, Royal Albert Hall as well as Epidaurus, the Herod Atticus as well as some of my most valued stage experiences with great colleagues such as Justin Hayward and Lara Fabian, Lucio Dalla and amazing composers such as Nicola Piovani and Jose-Maria Cano, John Barry and Barry Gibb.
Here together to share the stage with me, one of my most loved partners on the music stage, my great friend and beautiful soprano Deborah Myers.

Under the musical direction of Maestro Loukas Karytinos and our Youth Athens Orchestra, Mario will give life to the leading romantic heroes from the opera, musicals and sweeping romantic classic ballads of his recorded international career.

Mario Frangoulis will interpret with his own unique way, arias from well-known and loved operas such as:
Il Barbiere di Siviglia, by G. Rossini, La Traviata by G.Verdi,
L'Elisir d'Amore, by G.Donizetti, Napolitan Canzonettas on my love for passion and life inspired by tenor Mario Lanza.

Will be very happy to share with you all some of the most significant roles and works by our major Greek composers which have been major moments in my career, such as, 'The Birds' By Aristophanes music by one of my most loved composers who has influenced my course in music,
Manos Hadjidakis.
The Liturgy of Orpheus ( based on Orpheus's poetic works and songs) and Erotokritos book by Vintsntzos Cornaros and original music composed by Yiannis Markopoulos as well as Literature Nobel Price Winner Odysseus Elytis for 'Axion Esti' composed originally by Mikis Theodorakis.

With Deborah Myers we will perform works by Leonard Bernstein and Stephen Sondheim, by Rodgers and Hammerstein and Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber ( Phantom Of The Opera ) and of course Claude Michel Schoenberg and Alan Bublil's Masterpiece based on Herbert Kretzmers book on Victor Hugos Novel, 'Les Miserables' . Marius was and will always be a role very close to my heart both for his personal beliefs that are so close to mine, believing in your Family, Your Friends, Your Country, the one you Love, sacrificing almost his own life for those values he held so high and supported throughout his life. It was December 05th 1988 when I first stepped on the West End Stage playing the romantic leading role Marius, that made me fell both proud to be Greek and proud to have the chance to work with such amazing talented people of the British Stage. Each and every one magnificent! My first home on stage, the Palace Theatre.
So many great memories...

We decided to also share some rare footage from my early experiences on stage as well as some 'key' people who have helped to shape my International career both on stage and also my first international record contract with Sony Classical, in New York.

Hope this concert will also be an inspiration to young people who's talents I believe in so much and have supported over the years and will continue to do so in the future.

Lets give young people the vision to Dream and to Hope and to make life a true and inspiring Possibility. We only live once so lets not forget to share all we can with those who 'will'.....

Music is Life and Music is Inspiration, Music is Pure Love...
